What do actor/producer Denzel Washington, singer-songwriter Ashanti Douglas, and NBA icon Michael Jordan have in common? They are all alumni of the Boys and Girls Club and just like them; your children have the opportunity of one day tracing their future successes back to the Boys and Girls Club by becoming a member!

The Club has adopted a Formula for Impact in order to ensure the success of its club members:

Young people who need us the most
+
Outcome-driven club experience
=
Priority outcomes

The secondary additive in the equation is fed by our three priority outcomes: academic success, healthy lifestyles, and good character and citizenship. Both the formula for impact and the priority outcomes fall underneath the umbrella of our five core areas:

  1. Health and life skills development
  2. Character and leadership development
  3. Education and career development
  4. The arts
  5. Sports, fitness & recreation

We partner with entities such as the University of Florida and the Department of Juvenile Justice to provide quality delinquency prevention and mentoring to the youth we serve. We offer education and literacy programming such as Power Hour and Diplomas 2 Degrees that will contribute to your child’s academic success. In addition, care and attention is readily available during both after school and summer vacation hours.

In a national study, fifty-seven percent of alumni say that the Club saved their lives while eighty-five percent of alumni say that the Club taught them right from wrong. In the Woodland Park Community alone, we have maintained a 100% high school graduation rate of those members who attended the Club at least 3 times per week. Additionally, through the partnership between the Boys & Girls Club and the Gainesville Housing Authority, residents pay a fee of only $5.00 for the
entire school-year!

We thank you for welcoming us into your communities and hearts and look forward to servicing both you and your child.
